These past couple of weeks have been, as my redneck bretheren would put it, “nuttier than squirrel shit.” I believe I’ve gotten a particularly large, hairy monkey off of my back. That thar’s a big YAY in mah book thawr. Of course that’s a personal matter that you aren’t worthy of hearing about. Besides – if I talked about it publically the monkey would return with an army of mutant monkeys containing laserbeam eyeballs and such.

In the last blog I mentioned talking about a book called “Sexy Web Design.” Well guess WHAT? I learned a thing or two.

Yup. The book sort of reintroduced some super simple concepts that I had completely forgotten about. If you’re a designer and felt like you’ve hit some sort of mental creative block, pick that book up and cast ye eyes upon the contents. This book does NOT go into technical details – it does not teach you CSS or HTML. It’s just a design book.

That new Psychostick design isn’t 100% complete though – the internal pages are still looking a bit dirty and needs some cleanup.

After that – what’s next? Hmm. Well I’m considering a simple redesign of Rawrb.com here. I have been sketching a few concepts out – but how pompus can I make a personal blog site design? I reckon I can make it rather ridiculously pompus. It’s nice to know that I can do just about anything my brain spits out on paper, and when the time comes – you’ll be over-rawrbed! Heh.

The OTHER direction I could go is starting on my first Rails project. I think I’m going to take Blargbox.com and make it into a regular, simple blogging website. You can sign up, blog, have a friends list, comment on other blogs, other photos, your blog, your photos, etc. Yeah yeah – that’s not original at ALL but all I care about is just learning Rails and completing a Rails project before I move on to the BIG Rails project I have planned. If I have 100 users on Blargbox and that’s it I’m okay with that. I don’t care to be the next myspace or whatever.

But can all this be done while I’m on the road? That’s the billion dollar question. :]
