The Limelight in Nashville, TN
Awesome day today. Woke up at Matt’s family’s house fairly early, had some coffee, and worked on some web geek stuff. I figure that I enjoy being out here a lot more when I have little projects to work on in between shows.
The drive to the show was short ‘n sweet and we stopped by the only Jimmy John’s in the downtown area. Ty from Look What I Did showed up an chatted with us a bit; his band ended up playing the same night we were so they couldn’t see us and/or we couldn’t see them. Boo. I ended up having “The Porker” at Jimmy John’s; ham and bacon sandwich. Sadly it wasn’t as good as the others. Think I’m gonna have myself the tuna next time. Yawrm.
This venue, The Limelight, was the biggest we’ve played in Nashville. We rolled up, walked in, and the promoter guy Trey took great care of us. Beer, water, vitamin water, and even our requested Lunchables! So awesome. We received some spaghetti, salad, and fruit for our dinner due to his generousity. Badass promoters are my favorite.
I was a bit more social this time ’round. Talked to lots of fans and ended up selling merch for Anthony. After we played, he had to step away to help out with the new act on the bill, and I got slammed with sales. We did great on merch, had a great crowd, and an overall badass vibe.
The rest of the night was pretty uneventful; went into the van, passed out, and woke up in Indianapolis. Good job Jarsh on driving all night!
Things I learned: You can get what you ask for if you just ask, opening acts can surprise you, and Lunchables are perfect right after a show before you sleep.
